Born in the Netherlands in 1966, Harry is an industrial designer and graduate of the Design Academy in Eindhoven. Camila was born in Chile and raised in Mexico, with a degree in Fashion Design. They met in Milan in 1994 during a Masters course at the Domus Academy. They got married, and in 1998 opened their own firm, the Harry & Camila studio, in Milan. Together, they create the perfect blend of Dutch free-spirit and Latin sensuality, resulting in a design approach marked by experimentation with materials and surfaces. In 2002, they moved to Barcelona, though continuing to travel to and from Italy, where they strengthened their partnerships with famous design companies such as Alessi, Salviati and Moroso. They have become famous for their mysterious creations, with futuristic forms that evoke images of speed. This can be seen in their Bolla hanging lamp and the Amèlie table lamp, designed for FontanaArte between 2003 and 2004.
