Fontanella

designed by Federico Peri

Federico Peri's first collaboration with FontanaArtedates back to 2017, with the Galerie family of floor andwall lamps, and expresses concepts related tomaterials: authentic, lived-in, which do not simplyconcern aesthetic standards but represent a truedesign philosophy from which any type of projectbegins, whether it is furniture, an installation or an interior. The natural continuation of this collaboration is the newFontanella table lamp, where lightness is the mainfeature and incorporates some concepts expressedwith Galerie such as timeless aesthetics and thepresence of materials related to the brand: metal and glass, as in the historical tradition of FontanaArte.

Fontanella is formed by the union of two glasses: the internal tube is threaded, sandblasted and finally joined with the bubble-shaped blown glass. What makes the processing particularly refined is the manual joining of the two parts, which requires the skillful technique of a craftsman. Furthermore, the glass, which has always been the material par excellence of the FontanaArte product, is the most crystalline on the market.

Federico Peri

"Sometimes some projects arise unexpectedly: during a trip, a dinner, watching a movie, or even thinking about something else. In this case the idea was born by rearranging some samples of materials in the studio and, by overlapping an inverted glass and a metal tube, I was attracted by the simplicity and beauty of that combination. The glass almost seemed to crystalize the image of a jet of water as in a fountain. From here comes Fontanella, a lamp that has lightness as the main feature »
